Zygomatic implants are usually slightly different from your regular dental implants in that they are designed to be slightly longer than your regular implant to reach into your cheek bone (zygoma) as opposed to your maxillary bone. They are designed to support restorative procedures that also allows for immediate loading.
It is normally used where the maxillary bone quality and quantity is not enough.
Benefits of Zygomatic Implants
- Zygomatic implants are strong and suitable for patients with little or not enough maxillary bone
- Using two Zygomatic implants can help replace multiple teeth at a go
- It reduces the need for bone grafting treatment as they anchor into the cheek bones
- It can also help reduce the amount of time required for traditional dental implants to be placed.
